“Lambeth Council is on the lookout for new land to build council homes in the borough. Locations include the Former Charles Edward Brooke School and sections of the Tulse Hill and Holderness Estates.
The Council has secured £200,000 from the Greater London Authority’s (GLA) Land for Council Homes Revenue Fund.”
A bit more Buzzed: Lambeth Labour budget calls for 2.99% Council Tax increase as LibDems and Greens call out Town Hall failure and waste
“The Revenue and Capital Budget 2023-24 dominates the agenda for the next Full Lambeth Council meeting at the Town Hall on 1st March.
It is an opportunity for the ruling Labour Group to present their fiscal plans for the next twelve months. The official LibDem Opposition and the two Green Councillors will suggest alternatives.”
I had a school day in SW9. It was the first time in a few months that I was able to catch up with a very good old friend after they had received some incredibly sad personal news. I find these situations difficult, but no way as near as difficult it must have been for the very good old friend.
We had a hug. That doesn’t make everything alright, but hopefully they know that they are far from alone.
The main event of the day was a visit to to the school from a friendly bunch of Met Officers. Yes, yes, they have taken a bit of a beating over recent weeks. But the visitors today were charming and all made time for the pupils and their various needs.
I mentioned to Boy Y that the two police horses who walked into the football court might mistake Boy Y’s stomping ground as a toilet.
“Too late, Bro, That horse is looking well pleased with himself”
…said Boy Y.
Oh dear. Let’s fetch the school shovel.
It was a great session with the officers across different policing disciplines. I took an instant liking to the two Bobbies on bikes. Their bicycles could have done with a clean, mind.
I experimented with a new tech way of working throughout the day. I don’t want to reveal what takes place behind the magic curtain. AI is coming for us all, Comrades.
Jazz seemed to follow me around every classroom. It’s the genre of choice for teachers wanting to present a calming environment.
Pupils Love Jazz. I’m warming to it.
Album of the Day: Pet Shop Boys – Very
This is lush, from start to finish. You need to be in a PSB frame of mind and embrace the campness right from the start. There’s a sugar rush feel throughout the songs. The album is effortless with the delivery and production all leaving a feeling of calmness. We need more intelligent pop music. Very good.
