And not only on the right side of the river, but within walking distance of <span style="font-weight:bold;">onionbagblog HQ II</span> as well. <br> </br> I still cycled it. <br> </br> <a href="http://london.thewayweseeit.org/index.php?full=1&lo=148&page=thumbnails" target="_blank">Vauxhall Cross</a> fascinates me. It also scares the shit out of me whenever I am forced to play <a href="http://www.neave.com/games/frogger/" target="_blank">Frogger</a> on my <a href="http://www.londonsinglespeed.org.uk/news/" target="_blank">fixie</a>. Stay in lane and risk being shouted out by <span style="font-weight:bold;">Knobber Petrol Heads</span>? Or stay to the far left, and risk being shouted at even <span style="font-weight:bold;">LOUDER</span> by <span style="font-weight:bold;">Knobber Petrol Heads</span> as you make your move? <br> </br> Everyone's a loser. <br> </br> But the Cross is forever changing and transforming. The <a href="http://www.movingspace.com/newhomes/st_george_wharf/" target="_blank">riverside penthouse suites</a> that seemingly took forever to build are out of my budget. I bet I wouldnýÿt get on with the knobber neighbours anyway. <br> </br> The <a href="http://www.theroyalvauxhalltavern.co.uk/" target="_blank">Vauxhall club scene</a> is, ahem, not my cup of tea, but the boys there seem to have a lot of fun. I doubt if it is cups of PG Tips that keeps them going on their weekend benders, so to speak, either. But with the area having a <a href="http://www.vauxhallandkennington.org.uk/springgardens.shtml" target="_blank">history of pleasure</a>, it's pleasing to see this twenty first Century take on hedonism right on my doorstep. <br> </br> And then there's the <a href="http://arts.guardian.co.uk/features/story/0,11710,1456639,00.html" target="_blank">Bus Station</a>; and boy - what a bus station! It's truly spectacular, if indeed you can write such a sentence and not feel as though you should be spending your weekends on platform 12 at Crewe station. <br> </br> I remember being at first confused, and then in total awe as the <a href="http://www.mondaysmusings.blogspot.com/pictemps/vaux1.html" target="_blank">ski jump</a> was being constructed. The end result is a slick, modern and incredibly functional piece of architecture that probably wouldn't work in any other major city in the UK other than London. <br> </br> The ski jump itself provides solar panels to power the station. We don't call it <a href="http://www.onionbagblog.com/pictemps/stockholga2.html" target="_blank">Sunny Stockwell</a> for nothing. <br> </br> Strange then that I opted for mainly black and white during my WWSI shoot. Armed with the <a href="http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sonydscv3/" target="_blank">v good V3</a>, and a wide-angle lens, I like to think that I captured something of the feel for the area, September 2007.
